to cut or not to cut?

My hair is long. As in really long. As in- longer than it has ever been in my 22 years of life. And now I am sick of it. I want it gone. I want it out of my way. I want to be able to put my backpack on without having to pull out my hair that gets stuck under the straps. I want to be able to use less shampoo and conditioner. I want to be able to blow dry it faster (or not blow dry it at all!). Basically- I want something easier. It's been a fun road- but I'm ready for this journey to come to an end. So here's what I'm thinking- let me know what you think. Katie Holmes is my muse:

As a side note- I love this dress!

Why she ever made the mistake of marrying Tom Cruise I will never know.

I'm thinking I like options 1 and 4 the best. I've had short hair before, and I think I can pull it off. But the real question is- bangs or no? I've never really had them before- and it's a giant leap of faith. But I suppose hair always does grow back.

Yay for short haircuts! and bangs! I loved the change, except I want mine even shorter now. It does always grow back, but make sure you go to someone who is good!

My last short haircut (yeesh - that's well over 2 years ago) was also inspired by Katie Holmes. I personally love bangs because they eliminate the issue of having hair in your eyes... but they have to be cut about ever 3-4 weeks (more frequently than the rest of the haircut). Plus statistically guys don't like bangs. Don't know why. So the bangs would be a maintenance factor, depends whether you'd be comfortable trimming them yourself as needed, or forking out money for more frequent haircuts...

I love these cuts. I really liked mine when I cut it short on the mission. The only cut here I don't love is 2 with the bangs straight across. The guy I'm going to today (Twix), does free bang trims between cuts and I know Sister Jarett does too. I think these would be super cute, but then I'd be jealous and probably reconsider my decision to grow out my hair.

I love the first one too! And the last! You should totally do it. Hair grows out. Always.
